NSS believes in the health and stability of the watershed as a whole, and that starts with our stormwater runoff. We understand that stormwater management is crucial for the overall health and stability of our waterways. Managing stormwater runoff effectively helps reduce flooding, erosion, and pollution, protecting the water quality in our rivers, lakes, and streams. The utilization of natural stormwater wetlands slows the movement of water from our streets and neighborhoods into the stream networks, assisting in recharging groundwater supplies. Also, the use of natural wetland design alongside native vegetation planting creates a green space within our communities that provides crucial habitat for many plant and animal species.
Natural State Streams has partnered with municipalities, non-profits, and large corporations to implement these types of stormwater management practices. We approach these projects similar to our wetland construction and scale it to the surrounding area, ensuring proper conveyance of stormwater while revitalizing the ecosystem and providing green spaces for the community. |
