The Little Red River
The Little Red River job is located in Pangburn, AR down stream of the dripping springs boat launch on privately held property. The instability of this bank was caused by the inconsistent flows in the Little Red River due to the water level being controlled by the Greers Ferry Lake Dam. For this stabilization we trenched into the stream bed about 4 feet and placed a bed of rip rap and gravel to create a firm foundation. Due to this being a stocked trout river, we also placed large root-balls from trees harvested during construction within the foundation. Doing this along with piling extra rocks in small outcroppings will create great fish habitat for the land owner to enjoy. We then placed two layers of sandstone boulders to our desired elevation and added two soil lifts on top of that to reach the final bench height. |
