Paint RockThe Paint Rock is a free flowing tributary to the Tennessee River located in North Central Alabama. Water quality is a high priority in the watershed with more than 100 native fishes and 12 globally rare mussel species present in the system. The NSS team was called to stabilize more than 450' of eroding cut bank and to return a stable channel morphology by removing a mid-channel island. Eliminating the localized erosive potential and restoring natural channel morphology are key victories in the preservation of this majestic river.
